What is VD1 Video Doorbell?
VD1 Video doorbell is a relatively new smart home category. A video doorbell works by sending you a real-time alert on your phone with a live video shows whomever is ringing your doorbell, you will also hear a regular chime sound. A built-in microphone and speaker in the doorbell allows you to speak with the person outside. It also records footage of visitors that approach your door while you're away or unable to answer.

Face Detection & Face Recognition
In addition to the basics such as motion/sound detection, Foscam video doorbell also offers free face detection, which is able to detect human faces from every other type of motion activity and send you alerts. Besides, it has a new feature - face recognition (need to pay extra fee to subscribe this service on Foscam Cloud). When setting up the video doorbell, you create profiles of individual people, from there, the video doorbell could distinguish human faces and give you information about who's at your front door.

Newer video stream compression H.265 Codec, which has advantages of storage and bandwidth savings with greater efficiency, achieve high quality video preview and recording in low-bit rate.
Dual-Band WiFi
Foscam video doorbell has dual-band WiFi, which means you can pair it with either 2.4GHz or 5GHz network. It reduces connection time and simplifies the setup process. Connecting 5GHz network strengthens the connection while also prevents signal interference.
Two-way Audio
Foscam video doorbell supports real-time two-way audio, with built-in mic and speaker, you can communicate with welcomed guests and get rid of unwanted guests no matter where you are.
Smart Home Compatibility
Foscam video doorbell is compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, which helps you to check the front door with more options. Once you've enabled the skill, simply say "Alexa, show the front door" to launch a live stream on your Echo Show. Similar voice commands are also available with Google Assistant.
